[A stern-looking man can be seen on the pixellated video screen of the communicators. A new arrival -- he's clearly none too happy about it. Looking down at something, he mutters,] We're definitely not in Kanto anymore. Looks more like a former battlefield...

[He then looks back up at the device in his hand.] What a shock! I can't be the only one here, can I? [He should be worried about his own safety, why he's ended up here, and how to get out. While he is, there's a more important concern on his mind.] I've got two sick Pokemon here. It's like all their electricity's run dry! [The video of his camera is lowered to show Raichu.] Rai! Rai! [Raichu looks to be concentrating very hard as he attempts to make electricity come forth from his cheeks, but to no avail. He looks down, dejected, knowing that it's no use.] Chuuuuu...

[The camera is taken back up to Raichu's owner who smirks confidently.] My name's Lieutenant Surge. I don't know where this is or how we got here, but whoever brought us here better think twice if they expect us to be quiet about it. Never give up! We'll keep on fighting no matter what! [Though they can't be seen at this point, Surge's two Pokemon can be heard making enthusiastic battle cries in response to what their owner has just said.]

[His expression returns to serious.] If anyone else is out there, please respond.

That's what they said, yeah! It's so totally gross here, though. I mean, look at how dirty and nasty it is outside! Those scientists should so let us go back home.

[Well, Whitney's obviously a kid, which means she hasn't seen the battlefield. That explains a few things.]

Did you just get here, too? I don't remember hearing anything about a Gym Leader disappearing from Johto lately.

No, I've totally been here for like almost two months now. Falkner and Bugsy have been here for longer, though.

Them too? No way! I definitely would've heard something about three Gym Leaders disappearing!

It's super weird, because like, Falkner said he and Bugsy were here for a while before I arrived, and I didn't hear anything about either of them going missing, either.

If anything in this place made sense, they'd at least have a super nice department store here. Oh! Do you know where you're going to stay yet, or no?

[He's just going to pretend he didn't heart the part about the department store. In his mind, Surge is already beginning to question how this little girl ever became a Gym Leader.]

There are some parts that are pretty safe, yeah. If you want, though, you can totally come stay with me, Falkner, and Bugsy!

[On one hand, Whitney, Falkner and Bugsy are all kids. On the other, it's a safe place with people he sort of knows, and hey, somebody needs to look after those kids, right? Logically, it's a sound choice. And if he ends up regretting it later, oh well. One step at a time.]

[Sob, what about Electabuzz? He's cute too. Right? Anyway, Surge looks around to find himself surrounded by ruins, broken things and more broken things.]

[And suddenly, another Pokemon can be heard crying out from afar.]

EBLUBLUBLUBLUBLUB!!

[Surge turns to the location of the call.] What'd you find, Electabuzz? [And ignoring Whitney for a bit, he runs over to join Electabuzz. Brief glimpses of the ground below, his army boots, and Raichu running behind him can be seen on the screen as this occurs. Finally, he comes to a stop.] A street sign? Way to go!

[Surge looks back at the communicator.] We're on Gar Street!

Gar Street...? [Hang on, thinking about the streets in Discedo, give her a sec.]

That's totally not far at all! Go down until you get to another street, but make sure it's Latimir Street, and you'll totally be able to find your way here!

[Well, he's finally making some progress instead of standing around in what appears to be the middle of nowhere. That's good, at least.]
